As part of Lindsey Marsh Drainage Board’s coastal pumping stations refurbishment project, I write to inform you that construction works are due to commence at Anderby Pumping Station next Monday 12th June 2023.
The pumping station will see its first major upgrade since its construction in 1992. The works will include the installation of three new fish friendly pumps, a new electrical control panel, replacement transformer, refurbishment of the automatic weedscreen cleaner and civils works to accommodate the new pumps.
For your information, the pumping station protects a catchment area of 3590 hectares including 809 properties and holiday areas along the coastal strip. The new pumps will extend the life of the station for a further 60 years.
The pumping station will be taken off-line for the duration of the works (Between June – October 2023) and duty flows will be dealt with by a temporary over-pumping arrangement. The adjacent diesel station will provide back-up if required, with the pumps / engines having recently undergone a full service and refurbishment to ensure that they are able to operate.
For your information, the Board’s contractors are detailed below;
- Civils Works – BH Construction Co. Ltd (Principal Contractor)
- Pumping Plant – Bosman Watermanagement BV
- Electrical – Inter-Lec Limited & AIM Electrical
There will be some minor disruption to traffic for the ingress and egress of heavy plant to and from the site and this will be managed safely by the Board’s contractors. Disruption will be kept to a minimum as far as is practicably possible.
Please note that the museum (diesel station) will be closed to the public for the duration of the works.
For your information , outside of the contractor’s normal working hours, a Security Officer will reside on site.
We would be happy to brief the Parish Council on the project and to give reassurance that continued protection will be provided to the catchment whilst the works are taking place.
If you have any questions or require any further information in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact the Board.
Many thanks.
Regards
Louise
