Survey for Underground Cable

Message from the Outer Dowsing Company:

We are writing to you to keep you informed about some works ongoing over the next 1-2 weeks at Anderby Beach beginning on Monday, 17 July. We wanted to be sure that we were proactive in letting you know about what the work will entail in case you are approached with queries.

In summary, we are taking a small sample of the subsurface to help us plan the engineering of the underground cable installation that will occur in 3-4 years from now. There will be some equipment on the beach for a short time, 2 weeks at the very most. The beach will not be closed. When we get to the construction phase in 2026/2027 the cables at the landfall will be installed underneath the beach, the dunes, Anderby Marsh Local Nature Reserve, and the coastal road (Roman bank) – thus avoiding impacts to these areas.

The attached the poster that is being displayed at the beach along with the site notices which is displayed close to the works. These documents should give you some more detail on the work that is scheduled to take place and answer any questions your community members may have.

If you have any concerns please contact us and we will be happy to answer them.

Kind regards

Jenny
