Bird Hide
Good afternoon
Lincolnshire County Council has instructed a contractor to proceed with necessary works to the Round and Round House bird hide and viewing platform at Anderby Creek. Completed in 2010, the Round and Round House is a bird hide tower constructed from curved laminated plywood, mounted on a wooden viewing platform secured by screw piles, and linked to a boardwalk and steps.
Degradation of structural components was identified during routine inspection and unfortunately following very recent, additional testing the conclusion is that the bird hide is not viable for retention. Consequently, the project team is now preparing for its removal. The viewing platform will, however, be refurbished in order to maintain the accessible, panoramic views it provides on the route of the King Charles III England Coast Path. Subject to budget, the Council will explore any potential ways to add further value to the feature.
Set up of the compound and arrival of plant took place this week and work now commence, with the expectation it will be complete by early March.
