None

  1. To receive reports from outside bodies

  1. Approval of the Minutes from Feb meeting of APC

So approved

  1. Reports from Councillors re external meetings

Speed signs – no response from company we purchased them from but Cllr Wood has produced a key to gain access to their inner workings. Two issues

  1. The speed display is not variable and is only set at 40 mph.
  2. The units are incredibly heavy to lift off the mounting rails and once off, there seems no way of resetting them without access to their programme.

The new generation of speed indicators are much more sophisticated and a suggestion was made that we look for new ones that can give traffic info back to a base station- how many cars were going over 50 etc. This was generally agreed but more investigation needed.

The beach wheelchair in the possession of APC has been tested on the beach with a live subject in the seat and, because of the steep slope from the beach to the walkway, then it was impossible to push the said chair off the beach. Suggestion that we donate the unit to Ingoldmells where their beach access/egress is much flatter. Agreed.

Signage for the roundabout. None available and perhaps getting a ‘Disable Access’ canvas banner would be beneficial. Village Hall committee to give us the contact details of a company that they use.

  1. Issues with Anderby Creek toilets

Suggestion made that we need to keep a register of toilet closures – agreed.

The closing of this facility ad hoc is causing issues with the tourists and locals and leading to unsanitary practices taking place. Clerk to write a strong letter to the Portfolio Holder and copy in Council Leader etc.

  1. Format and Speakers at AGM?

Clerk has approached the Vice Chair of the Drainage Board and he has agreed to sort out a speaker. If not then Clerk to ask Vinord.

  1. Election update

Paper applications submitted – the election will not be contested but there will be a need to co-opt someone on the Council after May 4.

  1. Update on Outdoor Gym grant

3 quotes received – fitness first, awaiting quote for ground work.

Need to put plans on our web site and facebook pages link to public health report.

Once all quotes in – need to send on to Mathew Davie at LCC to agree colours etc

  1. Progress on setting up a Coronation Committee and Gardening Volunteer Group

Publicised on web/facebook but no great response.

Cherie wants to do the AC Island – giant deck chair, dummy of the Prince, gold bins and spades etc. Crochet items required for the tops of the sleepers on the island. Leaflets to be taken door to door advertising events on the Coronation Weekend. – Planned are fancy dress, sandcastle building, crown decorations, coronation quiz, and auction and street party.

Box on green/bridge/roundabout all now planted and the roundabout has been seeded.

Stepping stones needed on the island to facilitate weeding, litter pick etc.

The free hanging baskets have arrived but are not quite how they were imagined. Cllr Fisher to see how they can be used.

Letter to be written to the occupants from the PC.
