Cllr Davie:
Devolution – There will be an election for the Mayor on May 1st – various parties are organised and hustings etc are to be arranged.
Announcement made just before Christmas that |LCC and District Councils will be scrapped and 2 new districts formed. There needs to be at least 0.5m people in each so boundaries not yet established as rural area.
More responsibility to be placed then onto Parish Councils and there may be additional funding for this. There remains a real challenge going forward.
High speed internet due in Anderby very soon.
Gov instruction is to raise Council Tax by 5% but LCC will only raise it by 3% as people are finding it hard to cover everyday expenses as it is.
The Coast Road – 31 passing places installed but really this is just a 2’ inset into the side of the road. This road needs to be a Clearway.
Car parking an issue but perhaps Marsh Yard could be used – LCC looking into all possibilities.
Main issue now are the lorries speeding through the village.
3rd cable route soon to be announced – through Anderby. Public consultation event due soon.
There are lots of solar farms and onshore wind farm applications coming in, but the mood in America may colour their view.
Special thanks to Hayley for her help with the local defibs. Advice is that there should be access to one every 500m and this is apparently the case in ANDERBY Creek.
Budget now in place to repair the verges damaged by the HGV transits through the area.
The person who put the road barrier illegally (Sandy Lane/Coastal path) has received an email saying that it has to be removed with immediate effect.
40 tonnes of planeings have been delivered near the car park on Sandy Lane for its repair.
6. Approval of the Minutes from November meeting of APC
So approved
7. Reports from Councillors re external meetings
Anderby Creek Island – costings supplied by a Resident for the Island’s redevelopment were incomplete and did not include the planting of it, nor the concrete etc.
The cost of insurance was discussed and the cost of the upkeep of the new proposed design. It was decided to plant the island as normal and look again at any changes in November.
8. Application for DC Grant?
It was agreed to apply for the District Councillor grant available of £550 to purchase 2 picnic benches.
A discussion was had about making a donation to landscape the cemetery a little, and to buy 30mph signs for lampposts. Cllr Hayes to give details of any changes to the church estate that would be beneficial, and the Clerk to shop around for prices of benches and speed signs.
9. Update on repair work on Bird Hide/Viewing Platform?
The structure is unsound and will be sealed pending further advice.
10. Any Planning applications
None pending
11. Bank account change proposal?
Decision made to stay with Lloyds as most banks are now charging or are planning to subject all such accounts to bank charges
