Cllr Dawson: The idea floated that the old café by chapel point could be used as an ambulance sub station – the Chair of Chapel stated that the PC there uses the building as storage and a workshop.
Introduced the idea of a new internet based project called POL.IS - essentially an electronic notice board. Enables Residents to post concerns/complaints/ideas but not like social media platforms currently in use.
The postings are anonymous and anyone can respond by using the ‘thums up’ or ‘thumbs down’ emojis. If they need/want to add a comment, they must make a new post and cannot directly comment on the same post. This takes away the toxicity of social media.
Algorithms keep track of these + and – responses to a post and decides the consensus of public opinion.
It then puts these posts into clusters. The access is through a specific link (no app), which will be provided later.
This system is already in use around the world and it is not politically biased.
