Minutes

Annual Parish Meeting

 Report by current Chairman

The Chairman extended a warm welcome to the Residents present, and went on to

thank Cllrs Johnson and Wood for their tireless efforts in securing funding for the

various projects planned. Their energy and commitment are outstanding and their

latest victories are the supply of two new picnic benches for the beach area,

refurbishment of the notice boards, and they are currently in negotiations for changes

to the roundhouse bird hide – all without costing the local ratepayers a penny. Indeed,

no increase was made to the Precept this year due solely to this activity.

A special mention was made with ref to Cllr Johnson and Tom for the TLC they

constantly administer to the planters and the AC Island.

Again, of special note was Cllr Hayes and her enthusiastic approach to all things

affecting the well being of the villages - flood emergency controls, church cemetery,

health and safety in the church etc. – her passion is rare and yet here we have a group

of Parish Councillors that all share these values and passion.

Thanks also to the Clerk for his attention to detail and knowledge about all things

‘local’.

 Handover to Richard Fenwick, Head of Highways (LCC), for a presentation about the

Coastal Highway and all matters relating to our road infrastructure.

Speaker cancelled due to the change in LCC Councillors and possible change in future

direction of the councils policies etc.

Present were Management from Van Oord who informed the meeting that the work at

Anderby has now been completed, but the company still has equipment yet to relocate.

The beach profile at Anderby Creek is OK now – and there is no requirement for

further beach replenishment at the moment.

The District Councillor (Cllr Dawson) was formally introduced to the visitors.

A letter of concern was presented to the Team and as the reply was expected to cover

areas controlled by the EA and Van Oord, the notes were taken away with a promise

that the sender would receive answers to the points raised directly.

ANDERBY PARISH COUNCIL

 Questions and Answer session for members of the Public.

The Council wanted to acknowledge the tremendous effort, energy, and passion that

Cllr Colin Davie has injected into our Community over the years. His recent loss in the

Local Elections for County Council means we have effectively lost a great friend and

ally in all our local battles for parking, the Coastal Road, National Grid attempts to

industrialise the area etc. A motion was made that we recognise this and make a small

presentation to him. All agreed.

An invitation was made to the incumbent but Cllr Brookes stated that he was still

undergoing an LCC Induction course and was consequently unable to attend.

Speeding vehicles through the villages were mentioned and the Clerk has signage to

put up around both villages reminding motorists of the speed limit etc.

Report from Outside Bodies

Cllr R Dawson talked about the large waste bin beside the ramp at AC. This was

originally for the sole use of the residents on the beach housing but it is now been

abused by holidaymakers and others.

Idea to get 10 sets of padlocks for the gate to this compound, but things will still be

thrown over the tops of course.

A mattress and a cooker have all been dumped there over the past few weeks.

Campervan parking still an issue at Moggs Eye etc.

- Finance – payments required

Robert Aldridge Garden Services £146.85 – so approved
