Cllr Brookes took this opportunity to take questions.
- Why aren’t the roads not edged properly. Inevitably, the verges become over run and destroyed with parked cars etc.
Street lights in rural Anderby are non existent.
- The house acting as a car breakers yard in Anderby – ELDC investigated but not interested. All info to be sent to Cllr Brookes for a review.
- Reminder about congestion on the Coastal Road with cars/motorhome illegal parking? Added complication is that at Wolla Bank, EA owns the entrance but LCC own the rest. Restrictions have been applied to the beach area but not to the slip road that leads to it. Parking here severely restricts access to Emergency Vehicles etc.
- Campervans and cars parking illegally and there is no visible enforcement and any that are present always seem to be in the wrong place – eg Ingoldmells was packed last weekend and no Enforcement Officers visible.
Cllr Brookes to investigate.
ELDC still planning for district council elections just in case devolution is not accepted.
Funding for the new proposed structure of local government is still being debated but Parish Councils will be asked to do more as there are less DC’s planned. (There are 400 councillors at the moment for Lincolnshire, after devolution – may be only 70)
Cllr Brookes in charge of the Environment at LCC, (and another Cllr is in charge of Business Development.)
The Tattershall Recycling depot falls under his remit. Any local charities can have access to goods disposed at this centre.
He is also writing a monthly newsletter for all PC’s and if there are any issues then email him at LCC and he’ll look into the issue(s).
LCC introducing a ‘Community Fund’ (£2-3K) bvut also an additional fund with more money available with access through your ;ocal County Councillor.
- Approval of the Minutes from January meeting of APC
So approved
- Reports from Councillors re external meetings
Cllr Johnson asked if it was possible for the new Beach Safety Officers to use the Cloud Bar for shelter and perhaps storage?
Agreed but it may be damp in there? Maybe need some plasterboard but Cllr Wood to take a look. A reminder that there is no electricity or running water on site. Cllr Johnson advised that the Volunteers would be doing shifts of 3 hours (1 group in the morning and the next in the afternoon) and their job was to advise beach goers about the dangers of inflatables on the sea.
The original idea of having cameras looking at the area is apparently not allowed according to the Coastguard.
- Update about AC roundabout – seals
There has been no negative feedback about our new residents living on the Anderby Creek Island. The purchase of Oil for their specialist treatment was authorised, and we have a volunteer to act as ‘Keeper of the Seals’ to keep them weather resistant etc.
The carvings are cemented in to prevent theft, and the insurance for them is the responsibility of Matthew Davey.
- A1 Poster design – update
After the loss of life in the sea last year caused by the incorrect usage of inflatables, the PC has commissioned some A1 posters for display on the shore.
The County Council have put some generic signs up covering many aspects of beach safety, and they look good – but the PC though the ‘Inflatable‘ message was a little lost.
The PC versions will be on display before the next holiday time.
- Finance: Cheques required?
None to be actioned
- Date of next meeting Monday 16th MARCH 2026
- Any other business for discussion only or next agenda
Sandy Lane - parking of a vehicle causing large vehicles to go up onto the verges and causing considerable damage to them. The Clerk to write to the owner of the vehicle.
A comment was made about a group of youngsters hanging around the churchyard and the empty property nearby. Residents local to this are asked to be vigilant. The new toilets in the churchyard have already been vandalised.
